Window Film Options & Performance
Real numbers for every film we install, so you can compare like for like instead of guessing. 16 films, from near-clear to very dark, and a straight answer about which one your glass actually needs.
Which one are you solving?
Film is chosen by what is wrong with the room, not by name. Four questions cover nearly every job we quote.

Every figure above is measured on 1/4" clear glass; performance differs on dual-pane and Low-E glass. Most homes in St. George are dual-pane and many are Low-E, so what your glass actually delivers will differ — here is why that matters. We tell you what to expect on your windows rather than quoting the sheet as a promise.
What each column actually tells you.
Daylight through
How bright the room stays. The number people care about most, whatever they say at the start.
Solar energy rejected
The honest headline for heat — visible, infra-red and UV together. Compare films on this.
Infra-red rejected
One slice of the spectrum. A big number here can sit beside a much lower total, so do not read it as heat performance on its own.
Exterior reflectivity
Drives daytime privacy and how mirrored the building looks from outside.
Choosing a film — FAQs
What types of window film do you install?
We install the full range from our supplier — 16 films in total, running from near-clear options that preserve a view through to dark and reflective films for heat and daytime privacy. Light transmission across the range runs 5% to 70%, measured on 1/4" clear glass; performance differs on dual-pane and Low-E glass.
Which window film is best?
There is no single best film — there is a best film for your glass, your orientation and the problem you are solving. A west-facing great room with a view and a south-facing office with screen glare point to genuinely different products.
Do all your films block UV?
Yes. Every film in the range rejects up to 99% of UV with qualifying film, including the near-clear options. You do not have to go dark to get the UV benefit.
What do the performance numbers mean?
Light transmission is how much daylight comes through. Total solar energy rejected is the honest headline number for heat. Glare reduction is what matters for screens. Exterior reflectivity drives daytime privacy and the mirrored look.
Are these numbers accurate for my windows?
They are accurate for the test condition — measured on 1/4" clear glass; performance differs on dual-pane and Low-E glass. Most St. George homes are dual-pane and many are Low-E, where real performance differs. We tell you what to expect on your specific glass rather than quoting the sheet as a promise.
Can I have different films on different windows?
Yes, and on most homes that is the better answer. West elevations and shaded north sides do not need the same product, and we quote window by window.
How do I choose?
Start with the problem rather than the product — which room, at what time of day, and whether it is heat, glare, fading or daytime privacy. Then look at samples against your own glass. That is what the free consultation is for.
See it on your own glass.
Charts are useful and samples are better. We bring films to the room that is the problem, at the hour it is a problem, and recommend from there. The consultation is free.
